Welcome to the forty days and forty nights of Lent. Traditionally, Lent has been a season of self-reflection; a time for searching our investments - emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual - with the hope of being restored to a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Creator. Lent is an opportunity to determine what of our ‘investments’ can be relinquished and/or might be embraced anew that will replenish the soils of our souls. You are invited to enter this holy season of self-inventory and replenishment. Throughout the coming forty days, you can come here for reflections and practices that will encourage and support your journey.
Lent, Day 3
Lent is a forty day journey. Where do you imagine you will arrive when the journey is over? How would you like to be different? What would you like to see change in your heart? in your mind? in the soil of your soul? What needs renewal and what needs release? Take some time today to write, draw and create an image of your restored self. This journey is the destination!
Lent, Day 2
This is the beginning of forty days and forty nights of reflection. These first few days are an invitation to collect ourselves for the journey ahead. Put feet on the floor, find our breath. It is a time to make space in our hearts and heads for what the twelve steps call a "searching and fearless moral inventory." For today, just breath and begin to recognize your patterns - mental and emotional - that have been harmful to yourself and to those around you. Welcome to Lent.
